Yesterday was a bit of a fail. Plans for work in studio thwarted by temperature, sore throat and sneezing. So I had to endure lying on the sofa with the cat as a hot water bottle and watch TV. Saw fab programme on BBC iPlayer about artist MC Escher , who wasn’t a mathematician ( I always thought he was), presented by Sir Roger Penrose, who is a mathematical physicist, cosmologist and the Professor of Mathematics at Oxford university.

The artist and the mathematican inspired each others work, which is fascinating in itself.

Programme series called Secret Knowledge, this episode, the Art of the Impossible,  is available for about a month. Really worth watching.

And as a footnote, Escher liked ceramic tiles. I really love them too and am thinking about incorporating tile designs with my toys…could be fun!
